Most woman has a dream of leaving behind all her old clothes and going on the biggest shopping spree of all time for a completely new designer clothing to be added on her wardrobe. But the best thing that we can do is to make sure our wardrobe has all the essential basics with a few unique pieces thrown in for personality and color.

Dressing in all black to be fashionable is not that essential, but a few black things is important. A black skirt, pants, dress shirt, t-shirt, and of course the ever popular little black dress. The items are must haves in any woman’s wardrobe because they can be as dressy or as casual as you need them to be. Consider your shoes too, black walking shoes and black dress shoes, pumps if you can stand it. Maybe a pair of low-heeled pumps and some sexy high-heeled sandals.

Earth toned clothing is a must. You’ll need a pair of khaki or brown pants and perhaps a skirt. If you live in a warm climate, this is also a good color for capri pants. Make sure you have several neutral colors casual tops. Choose colors like ivory, white, brown, navy, army green, and tan. You can mix and match these items according to your style. Try walking shoes in brown and a pair of leather sandals when you go the beach or if you're reporting for work.

If you’re a big fan of flowers and laces, then you’ll need a floral skirt and maybe one with ruffles plus a few dressy blouses. But if you’re a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, you’ll need at least three pairs of good fitting jeans and lots of casual tops in your favorite colors. For athletic type girls, you’ll need a selection of sports bras, spandex shorts and the requisite t-shirts and jogging pants. And don’t forget a good pair of running shoes.
